Who is Remazing?
Remazing is a leading international provider of services and software solutions for brands on Amazon and other online marketplaces. Our founders, Hannes Detjen and Emil Beck, started the company in 2016, and we have been continuously growing since then. Our team now consists of more than 100 e-commerce experts, spread out between our headquarters in Hamburg and hubs in London, Paris, Barcelona, and Turin. Along with a host of advertising specialists from European and North American countries, our team also includes software developers, graphic designers, and operations, people & culture and marketing experts.
As a global partner of industry leaders such as Henkel, Beiersdorf, Under Armour, Schöffel, Leifheit, and many more, our teams help brands write their own Amazon and e-commerce success stories in all relevant markets. Our Work: Generating a profitability increase of 48% for Henkel on Amazon within two years
Henkel Consumer Brands used to work with different agency partners for their local Amazon markets, most of them not specialized in Amazon or marketplace business. In January 2021, we took over as an international partner for Henkel Consumer Brands from established agencies. More than 30 Remazing experts from the local consulting, content, and graphic design teams were onboarded and involved in the project.
The Challenge: Facilitating Growth in Economic Crisis
The challenges of this project were twofold. 2022 was a tough year for the e-commerce industry in general. A difficult economic situation in Europe and growing supply chain issues were a fertile breeding ground for challenges of all dimensions.
At the same time, the set-up before Remazing’s takeover was rather fragmented, consisting of different local agency partners without expertise for Amazon or marketplace business. The advertising campaigns throughout the countries were inconsistent and the lack of optimization tactics resulted in unsatisfactory overall profitability levels in Henkel’s Amazon ad accounts.
The Goals: Global Steering, Consistent Management, and Profitability
The goal of Henkel’s cooperation with Remazing was to foster a global steering of Henkel’s Amazon activities, implement a coherent European Amazon advertising strategy and to increase profitability. Therefore, the RoAS would be increased at a given budget and within a fixed keyword split.
The Solution: Global-local Structure and Granular Setup
Our approach was to implement structured global guidelines which were then locally adapted. We were able to mirror Henkel’s global-local structure thanks to having our native experts from each of the European Amazon core markets on the ground. We tackled supply chain challenges and out of stock situations using our internal software, shifting budgets away from products threatened by OOS issues.
We implemented a consistent management setup, reduced the number of automated ad campaigns and integrated a granular campaign setup. Our teams optimized campaigns with the help of our suite of software tools, and continuously worked on the product portfolio’s retail readiness by identifying and executing necessary content optimizations.
The Results: Goals Outperformed
Since the takeover in January 2021, we have optimized more than 4,000 Amazon advertising campaigns. While only increasing the ad spend by 4%, we have reached 54% more ad sales and grown the RoAS by 48% across the EU5 countries in 2 years.

What Makes Us Special: Strong USPs, Our Own Tool, & Our Team
We are risk-takers and grew our team by 67% in 2022 despite challenging times. This helped us support our clients’ growth on Amazon and navigate tough e-commerce markets. Across the board, our clients are happy with our work and partnership, as our NPS score shows (average rating of 8.7 / 10.0).
We developed from a small startup agency into an international e-commerce partner. Big brands and companies tend to work with established agency networks. With our focus on Amazon and other marketplaces we have a strong USP and thus, were able to win big international clients, e.g. Henkel, Beiersdorf, Under Armour, even when competing with big generalist agencies.
Our own Amazon software tool, Remdash, makes us special: developed out of our experience from working on Amazon – with a lot of time-saving automations, dashboards, and widgets.
Last but not least, our company culture makes us special! Despite the hard work and international set-up, our team enjoys working at Remazing and has a good time together.
