Something amazed us today… MyPostcard was shortlisted as a finalist in the European eCommerce Awards as one of the best E-Commerce B2C Websites of the year. We are incredibly proud to have received this major recognition for our efforts, particularly as a young company.
So, what is our daily business, and how do we go about bringing happiness to people?
Well, picture this… You’re chilling with your favorite people in the world in an insanely beautiful destination. Someone says, let’s get a photo together! What now?
The best way to capture the moment together and share it with friends and family, (not to mention the easiest way), is to use Europe’s most popular postcard app, MyPostcard app. We print and send your photo from one of our network of printing partners straight to your loved one’s door. Your entire postcard is entirely personalizable – from the design you choose out of our 70,000+ styles, to the message you type. Unless, of course, you prefer one of our pre-written suggestions, so you can get back to your vacation quicker. From A to B, the whole process is painless.
But then came 2020 and 2021, which were – let’s put it this way – interesting years for us all. Social distancing and isolation were being enforced everywhere we looked, and suddenly no one was able to visit amazing destinations with their friends and loved ones. We as a postcard company saw this as a new area of responsibility. The main reason for sending postcards and using MyPostcard lay, until March 2020, in the vacation & travel industry. But one thing was clear: this was going to change. We asked ourselves what is going to happen to our company now, and how can we contribute to society with our product?
When you can no longer travel to see one another, one thing remains important: staying in touch. And that is exactly what became our focus in 2020. Together with Deutsche Post AG (the German national postal service), we decided to give away one million postcards – completely free of charge! The postcards could be sent free and personalized with people’s own photos. There were also ready-made designs available. You just had to write a message and fill in the address field. Between them, MyPostcard and Deutsche Post handled the printing and delivery for you.
Since then, MyPostcard has enjoyed increasing sales despite the pandemic and grown rapidly as a company. We are now the most successful postcard app in Europe, offering more than 70,000 designs and even providing our customers with audio and video cards. MyPostcard takes charge of printing, and delivering personalized postcards worldwide with the help of an international printing network. We are now successfully operating in the e-commerce industry from bases in Berlin and New York.
To be named a finalist for the European eCommerce Award is an enormous incentive and motivation for us. It confirms to us as a team that our passion, heart and soul, which goes into our work, is seen and appreciated by the people.
So we are now beyond excited to join the award ceremony in Barcelona and to find out where we’ve placed!
